Daily Fresh on one cold rainy day at Sungai Buloh overhead bridge stop

It's rainy season again with gray sky above daily. And traffic jam at certain hours. The tired me decided to stop at the Sungai Buloh overhead bridge restaurant for a break and a food hunt.

A cold treat is nice on a cold day as much as a hot drink can provide. At daily fresh I decided to have the IceKimo, sour sop flavor. Nothing extraordinary. The guava topping is a bit gooey for my taste.

What I enjoyed was the corn in cup, piping hot mixed with mayonaise and raisins. Heavens! I never thought that I'd find such ever in Peninsular as I first discovered such food combination back then in Sabah!

Apparently there are other combinations too for the corn, for the adventurous lot.

Happy Chinese New Year!

This year will be the Rabbit year. My way of celebration is... to indulge in the sweet fragrance of Apple - Cinnamon candles (Tindra scented candles, RM 19.90; held in Ronas tealight holder, RM 12.90 each) from Ikea ^_^

Happy Chinese New Year folk! And have a good Rabbit year.

Japanese food at Ichiban Boshi, Sunway Giza, Damansara

Before I start raving, I must state down my honest opinion about the Japanese food served here. Honestly, I feel that I've tasted better, the food here is just nice for their pricing (cheap and affordable) but service is very friendly. Overbearing in fact, due to the low number of customers on that day; the waiters keep hovering at my table which make it rather awkward to eat.

I will highlight only the extra things that we have that day, sushi on the conveyor belt are mostly common ones found on any conveyor belt sushi at any Japanese food restaurant and nothing new so I rather skip that.

Yakitori chicken, my old favourite. Quite a serving, the yakitori sauce is pretty nice but as you can see, this dish is rather oily here. RM 13.90.

Salmon belly sashimi. Fresh and sweet, the fat simply satisfactory indeed for RM 6.

My pirikara hotate yaki (scallop with baked cheese) on a bed of salt. Unearthed, the scallop is baked with a sauce with cheese on top. RM 12.90.

It's .. a pleasant place to enjoy afforadable and cheap Japanese food. For me, I wont consider to come back unless I'm pokai and craving mad. I'll put Sakae Sushi one rating above it.

Status: serve no pork
Price range:
- conveyor belt sushi: RM 2 - 6
- set meals starts at RM 20 + and pretty huge
