And I have to admit, I love soy sauce...
Ingredient:
- Half a medium cabbage: chopped, rinsed and drained
- A small handful of anchovy
- 1 tomato, cut into wedges
- 1/2 carrot, sliced
5. Shallot, 4 cloves, chopped
6. Garlic , 2 cloves, chopped
7. 1/2 red chilli, sliced
8. Sweet soy sauce (Adabi/cap Kipas), ¼ cup
9. 1 tbs oil
10. salt to taste
Preparation:
- Heat oil, toss in anchovy, garlic and shallot together. Stir until fragrant.
- Add in the carrot, wait until slightly softened
- Toss in the cabbage and add in the sweet soy sauce. Stir till the cabbage wilt slightly and the portion shrunk a 1/4.
- Then add in the tomato, toss well for 1 minute
- Off gas, ready to be served.
Serves 3 – 4. Prep time less than 30 minutes.
If you like the cabbage to be softer, stir around till the portion shrunk even more. Like this the soy sauce taste will soak into the vege. If not you can let it be as off – gas the vege will continue to shrink.
Sometimes I substitute anchovy with chicken meatballs or diced chicken fillet. For this, you’ll have to add in the cabbage slightly later after you have added the soy sauce as to let the meat cooks first.
