My Perak Solo Stumble 04 - Kellie's castle

 Kellie’s castle in Batu Gajah, Perak, a lone beauty standing proud on the land that used to be of a wealthy lord who dreamt of a beautiful home for his family. After many years since its foundation was first laid down, the castle has not yet to lose its charm and grandeur.


Built by William Kellie Smith, the castle was supposed to be an epitome of his love for his expanding family. However, tragedies struck and now the castle lays there as if still waiting for its dream to be fulfilled.

A walk through the halls and passages enriched with Moorish influence took one back through time. The unique features of this castle however preceded its time; the first 6 storey elevators, indoor tennis court, roof top party areas among them.
