My quick lunch @ Little Penang Cafe, The Curve
Alone and in a hurry, I managed to stop by Little Penang Cafe for clean hawker food that I'd so enjoyed during my visits to Penang.
They all look pretty nice to me but I was extremely hungry to wait for the seafood char kuey teow which would take 15 - 20 min so picked something else.
Initially I ordered the cold barley lime but the taste was not to my liking. The lime taste was not there so I chucked it for sirap bandung cincau, which was nicer and not too sweet.
This is Acar Fish Set: fried fish in pickled vegetable sauce, lobak (chicken in tofu skin), ju hu char (turnip stir fried with shrimp and slices of squid), sambal belacan for umph, white rice. If you like your fish in sweet and sour sauce, this is for you. The ju hu char can be substituted for kerabu pucuk paku (a kind of fern salad)
The crowd was really huge and non stop. As you can see, it's a kedai kopi ambience. Everyone just slurp and burp here regardless tie or no tie. Though food is nowhere to compare to actual Penang food, it is still above par and acceptable, a bit pricey though.

Dessert! Pulut hitam in santan. Found 2 longan. Lovely! Not too sweet, just nice and creamy.

Soothing a sweet tooth @ Gelare, The Curve Damansara
For a doctor, I have a super sweet tooth ^o^ The amount of carbs and sugar that I consumed can shock all my patients to cardiac arrest if I ever disclosed them (just kidding).
This is after a 2 hour gym work out where I was absolutely craving for a sweetie =D My fluffy pancakes topped with banana, drizzled with maple syrup, a dollop of cream and a scoop of Chocolate Overload. Wai XD
Some ice cream have alcohol content though.

Japanese food @ Senjyu, The Curve, Mutiara Damansara
Finally, after reading so many reviews about Senjyu and the quality of Japanese food served there, I decided to give it a try.
Senjyu is reportedly, a high end and high class Japanese restaurant, and here I may confirmed that those reports and reviews on many blogs are delightfully true. Indeed, it was a wonderful experience to enjoy good Japanese food at Senjyu.

My jobless picture of cutlery and the menu while waiting for the food to arrive. Dunno why the lighting was so orenge-y. |

My beautiful Faery in the beautiful cup ^_^ |
![]() |
Oyster! Made into Oyster Roll with the combination of light tamago wrapping around the oyster and Japanese mushroom, prepared in a special sauce. |
![]() |
Lastly, a dessest of plain old green tea ice cream ^_^ |
When the bill came, it total up to RM 157.76 including taxes. Considered excellent for the load of seafood.
Note:
Status: serve no pork. Cooking may contain alcohol
Service: Excellent! The server explained the menu well, keep appearing to refill the teapot, and I changed my plate 3 times (they keep offering to change for a fresh plate)!
Ambience: lovely! Tatami sitting on cushion actually but who cares.

Thai Express = Thai fastfood
A day of hardwork, no one to cook for me at home and a craving for rice (After 1 week avoiding due to my expanding waistline... ). So a drive to The Curve, Mutiara Damansara...
Simple Thai food, not authentic enough but as mentioned above, I feel like this place is more of a fast food version. Contemporary setting, modern music, Thai - looking waiters.
I had sweet and sour fish with white rice, which was nice accompanied with my favourite vege, brinjal cooked in tom yum paste (not spicy).
