Japanese food posts & related others.

I shall no longer be posting on Japanese food, due to a friend's advice on the concern whether the food served are halal or not. Since they fall along the line of syubhah (halal in question), I rather not post any review then. So my apologies to all for my previous doings. The same goes to non - Malay food, which I shall review ASAP to ensure the genuineness of their status.

Arrowroot...

With Chap Goh Meh over last week, signifying the end of Chinese New Year celebration, I bid goodbye to one of my favourite vegetables, arrowroot...

Sigh... This root vegetable is only available during the Chinese New Year season and is suprisingly VERY cheap! I bought 10 of them for only RM 3.00. It tastes like a crossover of potato and sweet turnip (sengkuang). I especially love using arrowroot in steamboat and also roasted with olive oil and herbs.

And so... GOODBYE & SEE YOU AGAIN next year!!! (Running away in tears...)

Masak - masak Melayu ~ "Spicy" fried chicken @ Ayam goreng berempah

The chicken is not deep - fried, and for better result you can marinate overnight before frying.

Masak - masak Melayu ~ Masak lemak cili padi telur

Again, another sour - ish @ masak lemak cili padi recipe. But with egg this time =)  Actually masak lemak cili padi is not that difficult to make, you just need a blender, ingredients and the pot for cooking.
